Collapse of the Church steps  – Update June 2016

The rainwater erosion to the church steps has now been contained and the church’s architect, structural engineer and heritage building restorer are developing a plan to make them sound for the future. This will involve the installation of new rainwater drains, followed by the rebuilding and reinforcing of the steps.  It is likely to be several months before the steps are fully restored; plans need to be drawn up and permissions obtained from Highways, South West Water, the Diocese and local Buildings regulators. The PCC will keep  everyone informed when  building work is likely to commence.
