Offwell is a small parish of about 2,250 acres in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in East Devon. Bisected by the A35, just south-east of Honiton, the village lies at the top of a valley of woods and pasture and is only a few miles from the historic town of Colyton and seaside resorts at Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth. For most of its history it has been home to just a few hundred people and its population remains constant to this day.

Offwell village has a beautiful church, St. Mary’s (c. 1200), a voluntary aided church primary school, a sports field, a social club and a large village hall. The Village Hall, Social Club and Jubilee Room are all available to hire and benefit from a large car park with capacity for up to 70 vehicles.

Offwell is also home to the Offwell Woodland & Wildlife Trust, once the pleasure garden of Bishop Copleston. With 50 acres of wetland and wildlife habitats it now provides a valuable educational resource both locally and internationally via its website.

If you’re planning to visit or coming to live in the village we offer you a warm welcome. If you would like to receive a regular email reminder signposting you to up-dated information posted on this website then please email your details to
